Denmark’s Daisy Nielsen and Patricia Sanz Barrio from Spain are tied for the lead at 3 under par, after the second round of the HLR Golf Academy Open in Finland.
Nielsen, who turned professional just a few week’s ago, is playing in her first event as a professional and has started her career with an impressive opening 36 holes, with rounds of 70 and 69. The 18-year-old who has a career best finish of 4th on LETAS at the 2011 Murcia Ladies Open,will be looking to make her mark in the final round.
Sanz Barrio, currently lying 2nd on the LETAS Order of Merit, played solidly in calm conditions to shoot the lowest round of the week, 67, for a two round total of 3 under par. The young Spanish player also recently turned professional before competing at the LET’s Open de Espana Feminino last month, where she missed the cut by two shots. Sanz Barrio has the opportunity to move to the top of the LETAS Order of Merit tomorrow with a strong finish.
Switzerland’s Fabienne In-Albon and Caroline Rominger are tied for third place, at 2 under par and will both be hoping to become the first Swiss winner on the LET Access Series.
Norway’s Caroline Marten, Linda Henriksson from Finland and Dane Nicole Broch Larsen are all tied at even par and 5th position.
Thirty professionals and three amateurs made the cut, which fell at 7 over par. The final round will commence at 8.00am.
