Tina Mazarino won her maiden LET Access Series (LETAS) title as she secured a three-stroke victory at the Ladies Slovak Golf Open.
The 24-year-old was two shots behind overnight leader Wenyung Keh of New Zealand heading into the final day at Tale Ski Golf & Hotel Resort.
Mazarino began her day with a birdie on the first before making back-to-back bogeys on holes eight and nine.
The Norwegian began her back nine with another birdie before dropping a shot on 12, but she finished strong with birdies on 16, 17 and 18 to finish with a total of six-under-par.
“I guess two-under is my favourite number from now on! I am speechless, I am in shock,” said Mazarino.
“Right now, I’m going to try and catch my flight home, and we have another tournament coming up next week. I’m sure I will celebrate at home with a good meal and with my two dogs – I’m looking forward to seeing them.
“It was great conditions. The greens are really tricky but the conditions were really good. The ball rolls really well. It reminds me of home because I’m from Norway and there’s a lot of woods and the hills. It was a good charm!”
Slovakia’s Michaela Vavrova and New Zealand’s Keh finished in a share of second place on three-under-par.
It was a great final day for Vavrova, who produced a stunning 67 (-5), to record her best-ever result on LETAS.
“My front nine started slow, I made a bogey on the fourth hole, and I kept reminding myself that birdies are going to come,” said Vavrova.
“It was similar yesterday, but I was able to manage my bogey avoidance better today and I made a couple of birdies. When we got to the back nine, I said to myself keep going.
“I was nervous throughout the whole round, lots of family and friends came to support me. That was pretty special, I felt like a small superstar! In the back nine, birdie putts started falling into the hole and then an eagle on the last helped a lot.
“I love this place. It is one of my favourite golf courses in the whole world and I’m so happy to be back here especially after four years in the United States. Ever since I knew the tournament was going to be here I started preparing, it was great to perform in front of the home crowd.”
Italian amateur Anna Zanusso and Germany’s Helen Briem finished in a tie for fourth place on two-under-par.
England’s Jess Baker was sixth on one-under with Katarina Drocarova, Anna Backman, Tereza Kozeluhova and Maria Herraez Galvez all in T7 on level par.
In the LETAS Order of Merit, Germany’s Briem is still in second place but is now just five points Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjäll, meanwhile Mazarino has moved up to third place in the rankings.
Next up for LETAS is a trip to England with the Get Golfing Women’s Golf Championship taking place at The Club at Mill Green from 30 August until 1 September.
