England’s Thalia Martin had an unforgettable time last week on the LET where she secured her best finish ever ending the week in fourth.
After a quick turnaround, Martin is excited to tee it up this week at Malahide Golf Club for the Women’s Irish Challenge.
Speaking ahead of the week, Martin said: “It’s exciting to be back in Ireland. I’ve always had a great time in Ireland.
“Yesterday it was very windy, windier than expected. The greens are rolling good, and it is very receptive with the chips as well. I’m looking forward to this week.
“It’s not that hilly but its hilly enough so it’s a nice walk for my mum after so many weeks. The course is looking nice, and the set-up is good.”
Last week, the 2025 LETAS winner had a steady start to the tournament but came back in the final two days to post two bogey free rounds of 68 and 67.
“I won’t forget that course that’s for sure. The views were beautiful. The greens were in a good condition. I think they were the fastest greens I have ever played on. It was nearly 12 on the stimp so that was a great experience.”

On paper, this has been one of Martin’s best season to date. The 28-year-old from Peterborough has played between the LET and LETAS.
Martin currently ranks 11th on the LETAS Order of Merit after seven events and is yet to miss the cut.
Back in April, Martin secured her first Tour victory in Morocco at the Madaef Golfs Ladies Open after defeating Charlotte Heath in an all-English playoff.
“I’ve been up and down with confidence this season but last week hit the nail on the head for me.
“Having mum on the bag is great, we’ve got a good routine and she’s just keeping me in the right mental state. Instead of putting pressure on myself I’m just trying to enjoy it shot by shot and accept that whatever happens. I’m not trying to force anything.”
After last week’s success in Sweden, Martin is taking advantage of earning a spot at Aramco Houston Championship and will use this week as good prep for it.
“My schedule for the rest of the season is still not decided. I’m on the edge of getting something on both Tours. I will go to Aramaco and then make my decision. I never thought I would go to Texas, I’m beyond excited.”
Martin starts her new tournament week in Ireland tomorrow at 9:54am local time alongside France’s Charlotte Liautier and Iceland’s Andrea Bergsdottir.
This week sees the inaugural edition of the Women’s Irish Challenge held at Malahide Golf Club between the 27-29 August.
The event will see 126 players tee it up across 54 holes of golf for a prize fund of €45,000.
