Sweden’s Anna Magnusson stormed her way through the final round to finish nine-under-par and claim her third professional victory.
Magnusson, who started two shots behind posted a magnificent 68 (-4) on a low scoring final day at Golf Du Terre Blanche to usurp amateur Sara Brentcheneff from claiming a home win.
The Swede started strongly, firing two birdies in her first three holes before a bogey on the fourth.
Magnusson didn’t let this deter her as she started another birdie train dropping putts in on holes five, six and eight.
At the turn the 29-year-old seemed calm, rolling in consecutive birdies on holes 12 and 13 before nerves set in and two bogeys occurred on 15 and 17.
“It feels amazing,” Magnusson said. “I’m speechless right now.
“The first nine I was calm and played some great golf and rolled in some amazing putts but then in the end it was pretty nerve-wracking.”
This win marks Magnusson’s first professional victory outside of the Swedish Golf Tour.
“I was just trying to hit the ball straight and get through the holes at the end, I’m so glad it’s over!”
In 2022, Magnusson earnt her LET card through the LET Access Series after placing sixth in the Order of Merit but struggled to cement full LET status for this year.
Now the Swede admits she’s happy to start off her season on LETAS.
“I’m staying one more night here with Emily [Borggren] and we will probably do something fun, have a few beers around the pool and then take it from there.
“But honestly I will probably go straight to bed, it’s been a long week.”
16-year-old French amateur Sara Brentcheneff was a close second finishing one shot behind the Swede on eight-under-par to a roaring home crowd.
England’s Amy Taylor finished third on three-under-par after rounds of 72, 69, 72.
Dutch player, Zhen Bontan in her first tournament back from injury had a stunning front nine to climb the leaderboards and finish joint fourth alongside Isle of Man’s Ana Dawson on two-under-par.
France’s Charlotte Liautier, Sweden’s Isabell Elkstrom and England’s Billie-Jo Smith finished tied sixth on one-under-par.
The LET Access Series (LETAS) now has a month off until the season fully gets underway in June at the Montauban Ladies Open starting June 7th.
