Caroline Rominger
Fellow Swiss Melanie Maetzler and Caroline Rominger sit at the top of the leader board after the first round of the Mineks & Regnum Ladies Classic after both scoring 71, 2 under par. Both players have been in good form over the last few months, with Maetzler recording two top ten finishes in her last five starts and Rominger three top 3 places.
Maetzler played solidly on the challenging National Golf Club, with just one bogey on the tricky 10th hole and birdies on the 8th, 14th and 18th holes.
Rominger started her round with a triple bogey but fought back with birdies on the 4th, 8th, 9th, 14th and back to back birdies followed on the 17th and 18th holes.
England’s Charlotte Wild opened with a one under par, 72 to lie in third place on her own, with Emma Westin and Lina Boqvist from Sweden, who are both recent winners on the LET Access Series, finishing with rounds of 73, even par.
Kym Larratt from England is a further shot back at one over par, with four players, Daisy Nielsen from Denmark, India’s Vani Kapoor, and Suzanne Dickens and Emma Tayler from England at two over par.
The second round’s play will start at 8.00am on Saturday mornig.
