All the local crowd’s eyes this week will be on Czech professional Patricie Mackova who enters the tournament as a home favourite.
Mackova has a great track record at the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge having secured three top 10 finishes and scooped the lowest scoring amateur prize twice.
Now, the 22-year-old returns to the tournament for the first time as a professional, having successfully completed her debut at last week’s Montauban Ladies Open where she finished tied 21st.
Speaking about last week, Mackova said: “My professional debut in Montauban was a roller coaster of emotions.
“I was very nervous on the first day and it’s not an easy first tee there, but I managed to control it and take the tournament easy.
“I’m excited to see where I am this week and play on the tour this summer.”
Despite having some pressure on her shoulders, Mackova is determined for this week to be about having fun and relishing home comforts.
“It’s always so much fun to play on home soil and feel the support from everybody. I just want to have fun and enjoy being home with family and playing at a familiar venue.
“I honestly have no expectations; I want to play on Sunday, but we’ll see how it goes.
“I feel as an amateur, you can never disappoint. The situation has changed a bit now I’m a pro.
“People are asking me if I am going to win this year, but I have no idea. Golf is unpredictable, so I will just hit one shot at a time and sees how it goes.”
Mackova has her eyes set on earning LET status by the end of the year and is keen to follow the footsteps of friend and 2022 LETAS Order of Merit winner Sara Kouskova.
“Sara is a good friend of mine and I get a lot of advice from her. Her path was the best one to take, to go through the LET Access Series and make sure you really belong on the LET tour.
“I definitely have in mind the top seven and in case that doesn’t work, I’ll play Q School.
“Playing on the LET was a dream of mine ever since I played golf so I definitely see myself there.”
