Mexico’s Fernanda Lira clinched her third win of the season in a playoff against Iceland’s Ragga Kristinsdottir after the final round of the 2025 Hauts de France Pas de Calais Golf Open was cancelled.
It took three attempts at the par five ninth hole for the pair to be separated with Lira winning on the third hole after putting for par.
The final round got underway at 11:15 local time. Following a suspension of play due to thunder and lightning at 12:51 it was decided following a course inspection that the final round of the tournament could not be completed at Golf Saint-Omer.
The tournament was officially reduced to 36 holes. A playoff in tough conditions occured between the round two leaders.
Speaking about what it means to get her third win, Lira said: “It feels good. I am happy. I just wanted to win without Ryan on the bag to show I can do it alone.”
The last two wins, Lira was accompanied by her husband and Tour caddy Ryan Shuttleworth on the bag. This week she was alone but did employ fellow LETAS player Annika Borrelli to help carry the bag and dry clubs in the playoff.
England’s Gemma Clews stayed behind and carried the bag for her playing partner for the week Kristinsdottir in the pouring rain symbolizing the friendship and solidarity on this Tour.
“I really wanted to play in windy and rainy weather this year as we don’t get that in Mexico. Having a win in this weather is special as it proves I can play in tough conditions.”
With this win, Lira now moves into second position with a staggering one point separating her and Clews on the rankings. With Lira away next week at the LET’s La Sella Open it will be crucial time for the Englishwoman to cement her place at the top of the leaderboard.
Yet now Lira is secure in returning to her former Tour, the LET next year.
“It feels amazing to have it secure, I can’t wait for next year and to be back.”
Over on the Alps Tour, Quentin Debove, 23 captured his first Alps Tour title at the 2025 Hauts de France-Pas de Calais Golf Open with a two-day total of 3-under-par.
He entered the week ranked 3rd on the Alps Tour Order of Merit, still seeking his breakthrough victory.
With this victory, Debove now moves into 2nd on the Alps Tour Order of Merit standings ahead of the final regular season event in October.
“I’m super happy, it’s been close many times, so I’m very grateful to finally get it done here in France.”
Ragga Kristinsdottir now moves to fifth on the LETAS Order of Merit with 1,432.45 points.
Sweden’s Moa Fridell and Germany’s Sophie Witt both recorded their best finishes on the season by finishing tied third on four-under-par.
Slovakia’s Michaela Vavrova and Austria’s Katharina Muehlbauer tied for fifth one stroke back.
England’s Charlotte Heath finished solo seventh on two-under-par and now moves into the crucial top seven spots on the LETAS Order of Merit with 1,167.33 points.
LETAS now heads across to Switzerland for the Lavaux Ladies Open held at Golf de Lavaux from 17-19 September.
101 players will tee it up across 54 holes of golf for a prize fund of €45,000.
