France’s Charlotte Liautier has had an incredibly strong season so far and has recorded six top 10 finishes to sit fifth on the LETAS Order of Merit.
This week at the Islantilla Open, Liautier is looking to capitalise on those results and climb further up the rankings.
Speaking about her excitement for the week, the Frenchwoman said: “I’m super happy to be here, especially with the good weather.
“The course is great, I think we will have to stay patient on the greens, and I think the strategy will be important this week. So, we will try to stay patient.”
Liautier has one goal for this season and that is to finish in the top seven in the Order of Merit to clinch an LET card for 2026.
“I’m happy with my season, I’m playing well and quite consistent which is something that I’ve really wanted to work on.
“I would like to try to keep pushing and maybe win a tournament this year. To do that I will need to stay focussed on the process and control what I can control.”
In 2021, Liautier clinched victory at the LETAS season finale in Barcelona as an amateur and turned professional after securing her LET card at the following Q School, so Spain is a county she loves to compete in.
“I always love competing in Sain. It’s something special to be here and I always have fond memories of competing in Spain. I would like to have a great week here of course.”
Speaking about the larger prize fund this week, Liautier said: “I’m impressed and I’m happy to be a part of this landmark tournament, it means a lot to us.”
Liautier tees it up at 9:15 local time alongside Denmark’s Amalie Leth-Nissen and Iceland’s Andrea Bergsdottir.
