The LET Access Series has received a huge boost with the news that it has been invited to join the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings from the start of the 2013 season.
The Access Series will become the seventh golf tour to award official Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking points, currently awarded to players competing on the Ladies European Tour, ALPG Tour, LGU, LPGA of Japan, KLPGA and LPGA.
Tour Director Diane Barnard said: “We are extremely excited about this important decision which will see our players rewarded for their great play with Rolex World Ranking points, which could set them on the path to the Olympic Games at Rio de Janeiro in 2016.”
Golfers require a world ranking to be selected to compete at The Olympic Games, although the precise criteria are still to be decided.
The LETAS will announce its 2013 schedule early next year.
