LETAS READY FOR FINAL EVENT OF 2023

LETAS

18 events later and the LET Access Series (LETAS) is back where the season started, in Spain for a co-sanctioned event with the Santander Golf Tour.

Our players have one more week to showcase their talents and to make a last minute shake-up of the LETAS Order of Merit.

There is a lot at stake this week. One missed cut could crumble a player’s dream of securing a top six spot for the LET in 2024 or making the final stage of Q school.

There is no better place for a final showdown than Real Club de Golf La Penaza, the site of three previous LETAS events, the last being in 2021.

2021 was certainly memorable as England’s Rachael Goodall clinched her third LET Access Series title after triumphing in a staggering seven-hole playoff at Santander Golf Tour Zaragoza against Nina Pegova.

This week promises to be just as exciting and all eyes will be on how the Order of Merit rankings look after Saturday’s final round.

HOW THINGS STAND IN THE ORDER OF MERIT

In the 2023 LETAS Order of Merit rankings, Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen still leads the way with 2,338.58 points with Chiara Tamburlini jumping to second (1,589.35) and Emily Price in third (1,559.15).

Elena Moosmann is in fourth place having accumulated 1,454.62 points with close behind in fifth Gemma Clews and she now has 1,338.75.

After clinching victory last week, Hannah Screen moves into sixth on 1,233.32 points.

Five of the top six are playing this week, as Price flew home due to a back injury she’s impressively coped with since the middle of the season  but the Englishwoman and the others in the top-3 have done enough to secure their cards.

So it’s now down to the last three spots and with Slovenia’s Katja Pogacar only four points behind Screen and Vasteras winner, Denmark’s Puk Lyng Thomsen not far behind there could be a last minute change.

Players further down the Order of Merit will also be looking to jump into the top-21 spots and fast track to the final stage of Q school.
