Last week we saw the LET season opener, the Lalla Meryem Cup get underway at the stunning Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, Morocco.
The week didn’t disappoint. Beautiful conditions and tight leaderboards made it an entertaining watch. With only a two-shot difference going into the final day, it really was anyone’s to win.
After a playoff against India’s Diksha Dagar, it was England’s Cara Gainer who lifted the trophy, herself a LET Access Series (LETAS) Graduate.
After starting the day in T5, Gainer produced a solid final round of 69 (-4) to clinch her first professional win.
Gainer joined the LET Access Series in 2020, a tough time to join the tour and immediately made an impression by securing two top 10 positions, including a runner-up finish at the AMUNDI Czech Ladies Challenge.
Gainer finished the season second on the LETAS Order of Merit and was crowned the LETAS Rookie of the Year. From there she advanced onto the LET and hasn’t looked back since.
Last year’s graduates also impressed in Morocco. 2024 LETAS Order of Merit and Rookie of the Year Champion, Kajsa Arwefjall carded rounds of 68, 75 and 71 to finish tied eighth and make her first top 10 of the season.
Fellow Swedish graduate, Anna Magnusson, who clinched her LET card through LETAS for a second time last season, also had a great first week out on tour.

Magnusson finished in tied 16th after incredibly consistent rounds of 71, 71, and 73.
Two other graduates, Denmark’s Natacha Host Husted and France’s Ariane Klotz also made the cut in their first LET event of the season, coming T51 and T63 respectively.
Our LETAS graduates now have some time off to reset and practice before their season begins again in Australia, where all seven are currently entered.
