LATORRE SECURES THIRD VICTORY ON SANTANDER GOLF TOUR

Amaia

Spain’s Amaia Latorre triumphed in the second round of the 2025 Santander Golf Tour, played this week at the iconic Parador de El Saler Golf Course.

Latorre started as the leader after a brilliant first day and gave her opponents no chance in the final round, posting a 71 for a total of -3 and became the only player to finish the tournament under par.

The day began in the best possible way for Latorre, who shared a stellar match with Madrid native María Herráez and young amateur Clara Uso, a native of Castellón who was making her professional tournament debut at just 15 years old.

On the first hole, Latorre showed her calm and confident attitude with a spectacular birdie, while Herráez and Uso each got off to a bogey.

From there, Latorre strung together three consecutive pars and another birdie on the 5th hole, where she once again demonstrated her power with the driver, as she had done on the opening day.

At that point, her lead over the second-place finisher rose to seven strokes.

Despite a bogey on the 17th, Latorre signed the best round of the day and sealed an undisputed victory, with eight strokes difference over her immediate pursuer.

Speaking after securing her third Santander Golf Tour victory, Latorre said: “I am delighted. The truth is that I have played two very complete days of golf. They have been very different days. The first day I was very solid with the drive and weaker with the irons.

“Today, however, I played a little more conservative off the tee and I think that helped me to get the victory”.

On a more personal note, Latorre insisted that “it is very special to win here. It is my second home and both the support of the local public and my people in Alava have been fundamental.”

This result comes as no surprise as Latorre has shown recent strong form on LETAS.

At the season opener at Terre Blanche Golf resort, Latorre fired three consistent rounds of 72,70 and 70 to finish tied sixth for the week and earn her second top 10 finish on tour. The first came in the 2024 finale in Spain.

The Tour now has a two week break before we head to Morrocco for the Madaef Golf Ladies Open, taking place between 25-27 April.

The event will mark the first time the Tour has played outside Europe.
