KRISTINSDOTTIR READY TO BUILD ON RECENT RESULT IN SWITZERLAND

Iceland’s Ragga Kristinsdottir is looking to build on last week’s runner-up finish at this week’s Lavaux Ladies Open in Switzerland.

At the Hauts de France Pas de Calais Golf Open, the 28-year-old finished round two as co-leader alongside Mexico’s Fernanda Lira. When round three was cancelled, Kristinsdottir found herself in a two person playoff in incredibly wet and windy conditions.

It took three holes before Lira was crowned the winner after Kristinsdottir struggled to get her third shot out the bunker. Yet the Icelandic player is only focusing on the positives from last week.

“Overall I’m very happy with last week, I played really well in tough conditions and obviously would have wanted to play the third round but the conditions wouldn’t allow it and it was the right decision to cancel the round.

“It was hard to get mentally ready for a playoff after a 2.5 hour delay, and with little warmup and an absolute downpour it was just about making as good of a swing as I possible could on every shot.

“That tournament shows me that the work I’ve put in after Spain and Denmark is coming through and I just continue to learn about my own game and what my limits are and what I need to continue working on.”

This week marks Kristinsdottir’s second time at the Lavaux Ladies Open and she will be looking to build on last year’s result of 55th.

“I’m very excited, it’s a course that I like and I feel like it suits my game well especially with how soft the conditions are after all the rain in the past week.

“The views around the course are also amazing, it looks like a postcard everywhere.”

Kristinsdottir, who hails from Reykjavik, is ranked fifth on the Order of Merit after 13 events. 2025 has been her best season to date with two runner-up finishes and her first professional victory at the Vasteras Open by Moregolf Mastercard Open.

“For the rest of the season I really just want to continue the upward trend that I feel like I have been on in the past month or so.

“I don’t have goals around scores but more goals when it comes to overall performance and mental goals. I know I play my best when I only think about what I can control and not what everyone else is doing.”

It’s been a busy stretch of events for our LETAS players. After this week, the Tour has a three-week break before the season finale kicks off in Spain.

“What I’m most excited about off the course is getting to see my nieces and nephews after being away from home for 5 weeks now and actually get to spend more than a few days at home.”

Kristinsdottir tees it up at 13:07 local time Wednesday alongside Austria’s Katharina Muehlbauer and Denmark’s Amalie Leth-Nisen.
