Jade Schaeffer wins Dinard Ladies Open

Jade Schaeffer earned the second victory of her professional career at the Dinard Ladies Open after a frustrating final day for the 36-hole leader, Lucie Andre. The French amateur bogeyed five of her last 10 holes to hand the victory to Schaeffer. Prior to that, Andre had dominated, reaching six-under-par after a birdie on the second hole.

Schaeffer double bogeyed the par-five fourth hole, slipping back to two-under-par, but that proved to be the only blemish on an otherwise flawless score card.

Schaeffer, who carded a 72, made the most of the ideal scoring conditions, recording 14 solid pars after her solitary mistake, but Andre was unable to get her putter going. The top amateur carded a 74 but nevertheless finished the day with a smile on her face.

Through her performance she earned an invitation to play at the Allianz Slovak Ladies Open, a full-field Ladies European Tour event, which takes place from 27-30 May.

Schaeffer now shares the lead of the LETAS order of merit with Caroline Afonso, the Terre Blanche Ladies Open champion. Both players have 8,200 points.

After sealing her victory and in the tradition of the Ladies European Tour, Schaeffer was sprayed in champagne by her compatriots, colleagues and friends, Julie Greciet and Melodie Bourdy.
