HOW THINGS STAND ON THE LETAS ORDER OF MERIT

Order of Merit

With only one event left on the schedule this season, things are heating up on the LETAS Order of Merit.

Players have been battling it out all season to earn a top seven spot on the LETAS Order of Merit and earn a top LET category for the 2025 season.

Players in eight to 32nd positions earn an exemption into the Final Stage of the LET’s Lalla Aicha Qualifying School.

Four players have confirmed their spots with Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjall, Germany’s Helen Briem, Norway’s Tina Mazarino and England’s Billie-Jo Smith all expected to advance to the LET for 2025.

Helen Briem, made history on the weekend after winning the LET’s La Sella Open which guarantees her LET starts for the rest of the season.

This is the first time in history, a player has won an LET event before they have graduated from LETAS, the tier two tour in Europe.

Yet Briem plans to finish out the LETAS season and tee it up in Calatayud. With only around 125 points separating Arwefjall and Briem, we could have a last-minute head to head competition for the winner of both the Order of Merit and the Rookie of the Year awards.

Further down the list the race is on to enter the top seven spots.

France’s Ariane Klotz has been knocking on the door all year but the last two winner’s on tour, England’s Mimi Rhodes and Australia’s Kelsey Bennett could find themselves celebrating Saturday if they have another great week of golf.

As previous years have proved, anything is possible and with a win earning 500 points it leaves plenty of opportunity.

The final event, the Iberdrola Calatayud Ladies Open, starts on Thursday 3rd October and after 56 holes all will be decided.
