The 28-year-old, who has an attachment to the golf course, carded six birdies and three bogeys on the opening day at the 54-hole LETAS event on Thursday.
It was also a good day for Italian Matia Maffiuletti who signed for a 70 and the young French amateur Céline Boutier who carded a 71 and was one of only three players under par.
The 2008 Portugal Ladies Open champion on the LET, Anne-Lise Caudal was on par along with fellow Frenchwoman Barbara Genuini, amateur Chrisje de Vries, Denmark’s Julie Tvede and Kyra Van Leeuwen from the Netherlands.
The LET Access Series is the second division tour for women golfers aspiring to compete on the Ladies European Tour, which began with three tournaments earlier this season in France, comprising the GENERALI Ladies Tour 2010.
The tournament, organised by Prodene Klint, is taking place from October 14-16, 2010, with a cut to the leading 25 professional players and ties after two rounds. The purse of €25,000 provides a cheque for €3,387.50 to the winner, who will qualify for a place at the LET’s Final Qualifying School for the 2011 season at La Manga Club in Murcia, Spain, from December 15-19, 2010.
The final LETAS tournament will take place at the same venue in Spain from November 18-20, following which a full card for the Ladies European Tour in 2011 will be awarded. Four players from the LET Access Series Order of Merit not already exempt will also progress directly to LET Final Qualifying School.
