HOLPFER EXCITED TO COMPETE ON HOME COURSE

Austria’s Isabella Holpfer is excited to tee it up at her home course, the Allegria Resort.

The Austrian, who turned professional in 2024, had a successful amateur career winning the Junior Vagliano Trophy in 2015 and 2017.

Holpfer’s father, Guenter is the brains behind the tournament, and she has also been an important part of getting a women’s professional tournament back to Austria for the first time in 12 years.

“It’s so exciting and I can’t wait to get started. I’m thankful that partly they did this tournament for me.

“The course is in amazing condition; I’ve never seen it like this before.”

The Allegria Golf resort has done a lot of hard work behind the scenes to get ready to host a professional tournament for the first time.

“The greenkeepers have put so much hard work in since last fall and the whole resort team has been so busy.”

Holpfer, who has had a slow start to the season with three missed cuts is determined to turn it around at her home course, despite carrying some pressure on her shoulders.

“I think it will be important to just enjoy the week and have fun. Obviously, a top placement will be nice but I will have to take it one shot at a time.

“It does come with some pressure to play at home because outside people expect you to play well and win.”

Holpfer is relishing home comforts this week and has the unique position of her father being the starter on the first tee.

“My swing coach will probably caddy for me during the tournament. My mum must work but is hoping to come out one day.”

Holpfer tees it up at 13:45pm local time alongside Switzerland’s Natalie Armbruester and Australia’s Stephanie Bunque.
