HOFSTEDE MAKING PROGRESS IN 2024 LETAS SEASON

Nikki Hofstede

Nikki Hofstede believes she is being rewarded for sticking to her processes after two top-10 finishes on the LET Access Series (LETAS).

The Dutch player has made four appearances on LETAS in 2024 starting the year with a T57 and T49 finish.

But in her last two events, Hofstede finished as runner-up at the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge before a sixth place at last week’s Santander Golf Tour – Avila.

Despite not making any major changes to her game, the 22-year-old has made good progress in her game.

“I feel like my game has been progressing a lot recently,” she said. “My ball striking has been solid and I’ve been making good progress on and around the greens too.

“I haven’t really made any major changes, but I feel like I’ve created more awareness about picking good targets and focusing on my process rather than the outcome of a shot. This has helped me massively in staying positive as well as patient and in the moment.

“Finishing second in Czech has been a big confidence booster, mainly because it’s nice to see the mental changes pay off and to get rewarded for sticking to my plan and process.”

The MoreGolf Mastercard Open is taking place this week at Varbergs Golf Klubb from June 27-29.

Having played the course, Hofstede believes you need to have a good game plan and that patience will be key.

She explained: “We are playing Varbergs Golf Klubb in Sweden, the course is in nice shape, and I feel like there are some tee shots you really have to place in the right spots.

“The greens are massive, so it’s important to hit them in the right spots, as they are quite undulated too. Having a good game plan and patience is going to be key.”

Hofstede begins her title challenge at 12.57pm (local time) alongside Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjäll and France’s Ariane Klotz.
