England’s Eleanor Givens shot a second round 68, one under, to finish on three under par, 135, taking a one shot advantage into the final day’s play at the Open Generali de Dinard at Dinard Golf.
The Englishwoman leads Sophie Giquel-Bettan from France, who shot a 3 under par, 66, which included five birdies and three bogeys, for a two round total of 2 under par, 136.
Five players are in a share for third place, Sweden’s Lynn Carlsson (68), Manon de Roey (69) from Belgium, Germany’s Isabella Gabsa (68) and Frenchwomen Astrid Vayson de Pradenne (67) and amateur Lauralie Migneaux (69).
Overnight leaders, Germany’s Olivia Cowan and Finn Sanna Nuutinen, both struggled to produce their fine form from the first round, Cowan finishing with a 5 over par, 74, to be tied 15th and Nuutinen a three over par, 72 and 8th place.
Defending champion Valentine Derrey will require something extra special in the last round to hold the trophy aloft once again. The Frenchwoman is currently lying at 7 over par in a tie for 46th place.
Fifty-three players, including 14 French players and seven amateurs made the final day, which will start at 9.40am from both the 1st and 8th tees. The weather forecast for Saturday is for strong winds, which will make the extremely picturesque and challenging Dinard Golf a tough challenge in the last round.
