Getting To Know Rachel Goodall

England’s Rachel Goodall claimed her 2nd LETAS title this year, winning the Ribeira Sacra Patrimonio de la Humanidad International Ladies Open in Spain just a few weeks ago. We get to know Rachel with a few quick questions…

 

What is your most unusual talent?

I can rap!

How did you get into golf?

My Dad used to play and I begged to have a go and he eventually gave in.

Who is your favourite golfer?

Tommy Fleetwood as we have the same coach

What’s your favourite club in your bag?

My driver

What’s been your biggest golfing achievement of your career?

Qualifying for the Women’s British Open last year or my 61 (in the Ribeira Sacra Patrimonio de la Humanidad International Ladies Open)

Which is your favourite golf course?

King’s Barns in Scotland

What is the one thing you could not live without?

My mobile

What is your favourite food?

Chicken nuggets!

Who do you most look up to?

My Dad, he’s like my inspiration

How would you spend your perfect day?

I like to get up really early, play a round of golf, then have lunch and then walk my dog on the beach.

Your favourite city?

Prague. We did some tourist stuff last year and it was so nice.

 What’s your guilty pleasure?

I really like Harry Potter, I’m a bit of a Harry Potter geek. And I’m obsessed with Disney as well.

Describe yourself in one word?

Laid back

 What would be your spirit animal, and why?

I’d love to be a turtle. I’m not a slow player but you would really take your time with no worries

What do you like doing besides playing golf?

Watching football. Mainly Liverpool but I’ll watch all the Premiership games

If you could travel anywhere where would you go?

South Africa. It’s probably one of my favourite countries

What’s your favourite karaoke song?

Eminem – Love The Way You Lie. I know the whole rap!

What is your most memorable sporting moment?

2005 – Liverpool winning the Champion’s League. They were 3-0 down at half-time and they came back.

What’s your best golfing tip for a beginner?

Get out on the course and play as much as you can and learn how to score

Do you have any superstitions before a round?

Nev I always like to have the same breakfast, the same amount of time warming up, doing the same drills, the same colour on my golf ball – purple

What’s in your golf bag besides golf balls and clubs?

Food, my phone, my earphones, my music

What are your goals for 2019?

To come in the top 5 on Access and get my full card
