Getting To Know Germany’s Karolin Lampert

Germany´s Karolin Lampert broke through for her first win on the LET Access Series at the 2015 Azores Ladies Open. The young German had just missed 10 cuts in a row before turning around her form to claim the title with a two shot win over Finland´s Krista Bakker. Karolin answers some quick questions…

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you take with you?

A book, my sunglasses and my 56 degree wedge

If you could have an unlimited storage of one thing, what would it be?

Food

What is your favourite activity you do when you want to relax?

To read a book

How do you spend your time in the airports?

Drinking coffee, reading the news or walking around in shops to check out new items

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Walk with your butt and the rest will follow!

What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?

Frog’s legs

What advice would you give to aspiring amateurs looking to turn professional?

Believe in yourself and don’t put too much pressure on yourself

Do you like cooking? What do you like/prefer to cook when you are at home with friends?

Yes. I like cooking all kinds of pasta dishes and sometimes I like to try new things (which are not always great).

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

Playing on the LET and LPGA

What is your favourite golf course to play and why?

Buckinghamshire Golf Club because it was always a challenge when I played it but I really liked the set-up and the conditions of the course.

Do you have any superstitions before playing golf?

I always mark my ball the same way

How did you get involved in golf?

I was 6 years old. My grandpa brought my whole family to play golf.

What is your best travel tip?

Always have enough water with you

Your lowest ever round of golf? When and where?

I shot 65 in Morocco in December 2015 in the 2nd round of the final stage of Lalla Aicha Tour School at Amelkis Golf Club

What’s your favourite club in your bag?

9 iron

A blue sharpie pen, a donkey which is my lucky charm and lip balm

What tournament are you looking forward to most this season?

Omega Dubai Ladies Masters

Jason Day because I like the way he is playing and I think he is a really nice person.
