Eun Jung Ji Kim of Spain is known to everyone as Jeny. A new member this year on the LET Access Series, she is currently 46th on the LETAS order of merit. We get to know Jeny with a few quick questions…
Who is your favourite golfer?
My favourite golfer is Sung Hyun Park, this year’s US Open winner. I love her swing, the way she manages her play and how she keeps the temper and calm during a round.
What’s your favourite club in your bag?
My favourite club is the wedge. I like it because you can do a lots of different shots with it and it is funny to try new tricky shots.
What’s been your biggest golfing achievement of your career?
For the moment, I think my biggest achievement of my whole golf career was when I turned professional because that was totally a new start for me and the moment when I finally made a decision to dedicate my time in this sport.
Which is your favourite golf course?
My favourite golf course is El Cortijo, where I practice. The course is really tricky and long. I wish it was in better conditions but personally I really love to play this course.
What is the one thing you could not live without?
Music. I really love to listen to music. It relaxes me and lets me disconnect from the worries.
Who do you most look up to?
I mostly look up to my father. I admire how consistent and a hard-working person he is in everything and how he works to achieve all his goals.
What is your favourite food?
My favourite food is Jamón. I couldn’t live without it!
How would you spend your perfect day?
I would spend my perfect day with my family at the beach enjoying the moment and tasting some good food!
Your favourite city?
My favourite city is my home, Gran Canaria, it has beautiful beaches that I love and a really nice weather all the year.
Describe yourself in one word?
Hard-working. I like to dedicate time to my work and I can say that I am a person who never gives up and always works hard to reach my goals.
What do you like doing besides playing golf?
I like hanging out with my friends and also watching movies besides playing golf.
If you could travel anywhere where would you go?
I always would like to go to Thailand. It is one of my favourites places in the world, especially Bali.
What’s your best golfing tip for a beginner?
Get ready with a good posture and stance, aim, trust your swing and go!
Do you have any superstitions before a round?
I don’t have any superstitions before a round but when I am wearing a sweater before a round I don’t take it off during the play.
What is your most memorable sporting moment?
I don’t have anything special but I think it is every tournament I play. I hadn’t played many tournaments before turning pro and I am very happy to see my improvements in each tournament I play and how I grow up learning from them.
Do you listen to music before your round?
No I don’t, I prefer to concentrate on my day’s feelings without it
What’s in your golf bag besides golf balls and clubs?
I have got a pack with everything inside, medicine in case I get sick, lip balm, sun cream, plaster and of course some food and water.
What are your goals for 2017?
My goals for this rookie year is gaining experiences playing as many tournaments I can and get my full card for the LET and maybe for the KLPGA next year.
