Emma Goddard is gaining momentum, as she moves to 10th on the LETAS Order of Merit. The Englishwoman is one to look out for as we head to her home country later on this season. Emma answers a few quick questions…

Do you have a nickname your friends refer to you by?
Don’t really have one but my dad calls me Spud and a friend calls me Sparky
If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you take with you?
A football, boat and a blanket
If you could have an unlimited storage of one thing, what would it be?
Milky bars – love a bit of white chocolate
What is your favourite activity you do when you want to relax?
Playing football or flying my kite
How do you spend your time in the airports?
Catching up on emails and watching films
What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Believe in yourself
What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?
Chicken curry in China was definitely not what I expected
If you had one word to describe yourself, what would it be?
Determined

Football – Everton Football Club
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’ve always wanted to go to Australia and New Zealand
What advice would you give to aspiring amateurs looking to turn professional?
Make sure you are prepared for the amount of travel required alone
Do you like cooking?
I was until recently a training pastry chef making cakes and deserts
Tell us something you hate doing. Why?
Don’t really hate doing anything if I don’t like doing something I tend not to do it
Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
Within the next 5 years I hope to be playing full time on both the LET and LPGA playing regularly in majors.
What has been your biggest golfing achievement?
Would have to be turning pro finishing 13th at Tour School and gaining my full card for 2015
What is your favourite golf course to play and why?
Has to be Royal Liverpool – this is my home, as I call it. I have been a member there for 6 years and love it every time I go back
Do you have any superstitions before playing golf?
I always carry with me a small stone that was given to me by a very close friend a few years ago
Age you started playing golf? Who /how did you get involved in golf?
I started playing golf at the age of 8 after finding my grandad’s clubs in the garage one summer
Age you received your first handicap?
I was 8 years old and I joined my local junior section in Liverpool

Be organised

What’s your favourite club in your bag?
Putter
What’s in your golfbag? And apart from clubs and golf balls?
I’ve always got with me a few things I have collected to remind me of home and friends including a lambbanna and a small monkey toy

225 yards
What tournament are you looking forward to most this season?
I’m looking forward to Stoke by Nayland to be able to play in my home country is always special
If you could pick a dream fourball partner who would it be and why?
I think it would be my grandad as he is the reason I play golf and to play with him one more time would be a dream

100 yards
If you could learn any language fluently, what would it be?
Spanish
What were your first set of golf clubs?
My first set of clubs was a kids package set from US Kids golf
