Getting To Know Chloe Williams

Chloe Williams from Wales is hoping for a strong finish to the 2019 season and earn her LET card for 2020. The 24-year-old is currently lying in 13th place on the Race to La Largue standings. We get to know Chloe with a few quick questions…

Most Unusual talent?

Mimicking accent and sounds.

How did you get into golf?

I grew up in a very sporty family, my Father is a golf coaching professional (who is also my coach), at the age of 2 he put a club in my hand! I was hugely into my football and athletics through my schooling years but from the age of 14 I concentrated on golf and that’s had my full attention to date.

Who is your favourite golfer?

I don’t have a specific or particular golfer that is my favourite, I look up to few players/role models for different reasons.

Which is your favourite club in your bag?

Putter. 

What’s been your biggest golfing achievement of your career?

Having 30+ caps representing Wales internationally as an amateur.

Which is your favourite golf course?

Le Golf National, Paris – where they held the 2018 Ryder Cup.

What is the one thing you could not live without?

My family and a dog.

What is your favourite food?

This has to be the hardest question for me as I LOVE my food!! But if I HAD to choose it would be a Welsh Lamb Sunday roast with all the trimmings!!

Who do you most look up too?

My Parents.

How would you spend your perfect day?

Not with an early rise as I love my bed and sleep!! Play 9 holes with my closest golfing pals, maybe some retail therapy and finish up with some nice food and drinks with family, friends and boyfriend.

Sydney, Australia.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Singing to my heart’s content alone in the car!

Describe yourself in one word.

‘Joker’

What would be your spirit animal and why?

A dog – some of my closest Tour mates call me ‘Bulldog’ as I am a very determined, gritty, feisty, small but yet a strong person. HaHa!!!

What do you like doing besides golf?

Watching Liverpool FC (my favourite sporting team).

Working with my personal trainer.

Hanging out with friends, and boyfriend.

Watching and supporting my boyfriend’s ice hockey team.

Shopping!!!

If you could travel anywhere where would you go?

I’d like to travel all of Asia and Pacific countries to experience the wild life, cultures, and way of life.

What is your favourite Karaoke song?

I’m Every Woman – Chaka Khan … HAHAHA!!

What is your most memorable sporting moment?

Representing Team GB in the Youth Olympics in Australia in 2013. Winning gold in the Team and bronze in the Individual.

What is your best golfing tip for a beginner?

To not over think everything as you can get too wrapped into doing everything too perfectly and get in your own way! Listen well to your coaches and ENJOY IT!!

Do you have any superstitions before a round?

Nothing really before the round – more during, I have to have my clubs clean and in order, and I cannot play with a number 3 ball.

What’s in your golf bag besides balls and clubs?

Snacks, water, energy drinks, gum, phone, waterproofs and golfing aids.

What are your goals for 2019?

To earn a full card for the Ladies European Tour for the 2020 season.
