Marta Sanz Barrio
The Nordic swing continues on the LET Access Series this week as 95 players from 18 different countries tee up in the Ladies Norwegian Challenge starting Tuesday at Losby Golf Club, near Oslo, Norway.
This week’s tournament provides the opportunity for the players to make inroads into the all-important top five on the LETAS Order of Merit, who in October will be rewarded with full cards to play on the LET in 2015.
There are nine of the current top 10 players on the Order of Merit in the field this week and also nine LET Access Series tournament winners taking part, including last week’s champion, Marta Sanz Barrio.
Sanz Barrio will be playing with her aim to qualify for the Ladies European Tour next season. The Spanish player is combining her amateur schedule and the LET Access Series, with the intention of turning professional at the end of the year and attending both the LPGA and LET Tour School.
The Ladies Norwegian Challenge represents the penultimate opportunity for players to earn a wild card to the LET’s Helsinborg Open being played at Vasatorp Golf Club, on 4-7 September. Sweden’s Natalie Wille currently leads the Nordea Tour Ranking, closely followed by fellow countrywoman Emma Westin.
Play commences at 8.00am on Tuesday morning from both the 1st and 10th tees.
