The thirteenth event on the 2014 LETAS schedule, the Azores Ladies Open, will take place from the 3 – 5 October at Golf de Batalha on São Miguel Island this week.
Swedish players Isabella Ramsay, Emma Westin, Lina Boqvist and Emma Westin, have won eight titles between them this season and will compete for the €30,000 prize fund and the opportunity to progress directly on to the Ladies European Tour in 2015.
Isabella Ramsay is a two-time winner on LETAS this year, winning both the Kristianstad Ahus Ladies PGA Open in Sweden and Royal Belgian Golf Federation LETAS Trophy at Rinkven Golf Club, in Belgium.
Emma Westin has visited the winner’s circle a record breaking three times in 2014, winning the Solvesborg Ladies Open hosted by Fanny Sunesson in Sweden, the HLR Golf Academy Open in Finland, and Mineks & Regnum Ladies Classic at National Golf Club in Turkey.
Emma Nilsson triumphed twice at the Pilsen Golf Challenge in the Czech Republic and the Ladies Norwegian Challenge at Losby Golf Club, near Oslo, and Lina Boqvist took the title at the Onsjö Ladies Open.
Denmark’s Daisy Nielsen is well placed to secure her LET card for next season. Nielsen yet to win on LETAS, has only finished outside the top 20 once in her twelve starts this season and is currently lying 4th on the LETAS Order of Merit.
The top five players on the LETAS order of merit will progress to the Ladies European Tour for next season, with players finishing from 6th to 20th place qualifying directly to the final stage of the LET Lalla Aicha Tour School.
