Fallay and Tvede go head to head at the Trophée Preven’s

Denmark’s Julie Tvede

Tvede’s round of 67 included seven birdies and two bogeys at Golf de Bussy Guermantes. The 30-year-old from Frederiksberg, ranked 19th on the LET Access Series Order of Merit, is hoping to retain her card for the Ladies European Tour next year, where she is currently 126th on the Henderson Money List.

Fallay, who opened with a 69 on her home course, added a round of 70 to remain at the top of the leader board. The 28-year-old, who, like Tvede is in her third season on the Ladies European Tour, recorded five birdies and three bogeys on a cloudy day in Bussy-Saint-Georges.

Frenchwoman Jade Schaeffer, who won the Dinard Ladies Open in April, is in third place, four strokes back on one-under after a round of 70, which could have been better, had she not double-bogeyed the par-five last hole.

Two French amateurs shared fourth place on level par: Celine Boutier and Perrine Delacour after rounds of 73 and 69 respectively.

Two-time winner on the LET Access Series, Caroline Afonso, was a stroke back in a share of sixth place on one over par with Barbara Genuini, Italian Matia Maffiuletti and Spain’s Mariana Macias Capuzzi. A total of 32 players made the cut, including seven amateurs, which fell to nine-over-par.

The LET Access Series is the second division tour for women golfers aspiring to compete on the Ladies European Tour, which began with three tournaments earlier this season in France, comprising the GENERALI Ladies Tour 2010.

The final LETAS tournament will take place at La Manga Club in Murcia, Spain, from November 18-20, following which a full card for the Ladies European Tour in 2011 will be awarded. Four players from the LET Access Series Order of Merit not already exempt will also progress directly to LET Final Qualifying School at La Manga Club in Spain.
