France’s Emma Falcher secured an impressive five shot victory at the Rose Ladies Open after firing a final round of 69 (-3) to finish on 11-under-par after three days.
It was a steady start for the rookie with eight consecutive pars and one bogey on the front nine. At the turn the overnight leader gathered momentum to card four more birdies, impressively three consecutively on holes 11,12 and 13.
Speaking about what it means to win, Falcher said: “It feels so good. It’s been an amazing rookie year, and I have learnt so much.
“I have no words. I will celebrate with my parents; family first and then celebrate with all my friends.”
Prior to entering this tournament Falcher’s highest finish was tied 14th at the Allegria Ladies Open. Back in 2022, Falcher played in the Rose Ladies Open as an amateur and missed the cut. A lot has changed two years later.
“This has been my favourite tournament, I was here three years ago, and I always wanted to win this one. Its huge for me.”
It’s not just the trophy Falcher has secured but also her first car as the 20-year-old won a bet with her father, Dominique who has caddied for her throughout the year.
“There was a deal with my dad that I could get a car if I won so I’m going straight back to France to buy one.”
With this victory, Falcher now sits 25th on the LETAS Order of Merit moving her 62 spots up the rankings.
“My main goal of course is to play on the LET and be a successful player.
“Walking off and receiving a congratulations from Justin and Kate Rose was magical. It was like I was in a movie. It hasn’t all sunk in.”
England’s Gemma Clews finished solo second and retained her spot at the top of the rankings.
After 14 events the Order of Merit Leader has 1,834.66 points confirming her LET card for next year. Now the race is on to see if anyone can threaten her top spot.
England’s Lianna Bailey had an excellent final round of 70 (-2) to clinch third spot, marking her highest finish on LETAS this season.
France’s Charlotte Liautier and Austria’s Katharina Muehlbauer tied for fourth. They now sit fifth and second on the Order of Merit respectively.
Seven players tied for sixth on three-under-par including four Englishwomen: Laffar, Hume, Heath and MacLaren.
LETAS now travels across the English Channel to France for the Hauts de France Pas de Calais Golf Open, a co-sanctioned event with the Alps Tour.
