The long awaited Islantilla Open kicks off this week in sunny Spain as we reach the midway mark of the LETAS season.
The event boasts the largest prize fund the Tour has seen of €100,000, with the winner receiving €16,000.
This large purse has helped this season to be a record-breaking overall purse fund of around 956,500 euros.
126 players will tee it up at Islantilla Golf Resort across 54 holes of Golf with play starting on Thursday 17 June.
After 36 holes there will be a cut to the top 45 professionals and ties.
DoubleTree by Hilton Islantilla Resort is renowned and has previously held a European Tour event, the Turespana Masters Open de Andalucia in 1995.
31 nationalities are in the field this week including 16 Spaniards.
Spaniards teeing it up this week include top ranked Spanish player Amaia Latorre, who has enjoyed a few successful weeks on the LET and local Huelva talent in the form of Constanza Guerrero.
LETAS Order of Merit leader Amalie Leth-Nissen is teeing it up this week alongside England’s Charlotte Heath who leads the Rookie of the Year standings by a tight seven points.
22 previous Tour winners are in the field displaying the strength and depth of the entries.

The Islantilla Open will start on Thursday 17 July and finish on Saturday 19.
There are two days of practice days and this event uniquely has no Pro-am.
