LETAS is halfway into its four week stretch of tournaments and this week we return to Avila to Naturavila Golf for our co-sanctioned event with the Santander Golf Tour.
The tournament will see 108 players tee it up in the 54-hole stroke play competition between 29-31 May for €45,000, and there will be a cut to the top 45 professionals and ties at the 36-hole mark.
Naturavila Golf is proud to host the tournament for a second year in a row. The course is home to LETAS and Santander Golf Tour player Marta Munoz Jimenez.
13 years ago, whilst undergoing a brain tumour operation, she had a dream. A dream that she was playing in a professional tournament at her home course, Naturavila Golf Club in Avila.
Last year saw her dream of having a tournament at her home course come true and now she gets to relive that dream a second time.
Additionally, last year saw Germany’s Helen Briem complete her hat-trick of wins at Naturavila and shooting a Tour 18-hole record in the process.
There are 30 represented in the field including 14 Spanish players.
Highest ranked Spanish player Amaia Latorre will be hoping for success this week off the back of her top 20 finish on the LET’s Jabra Ladies Open last week.
Spanish rookie Marina Escobar Domingo will also be vying to secure her maiden title this week.
A total of 14 Tour winners are competing this week with 18 rookies also teeing it up.
The Santander Golf Tour-Avila begins on Wednesday 21 May and will conclude on Friday 23 May.
