ESCOBAR DOMINGO READY TO PRODUCE RESULTS AT HOME

Spanish rookie Marina Escobar Domingo is excited to have her first week playing at home this season.

The 23-year-old from Almeria has had a solid start to the year making four consecutive cuts and one top 10 at the season opener.

This week, Escobar Domingo is hoping to reproduce her result at Terre Blanche and perform strong at home on a new course.

Speaking about Naturavila Golf, Escobar Domingo said: “I think it is a fun course to play.

“The weather is with us this week which is also nice.  I think you can go low out here.”

Escobar Domingo has her father coming out to support her this week and she’s excited to have family watching her on Tour for the first time.

“I’m excited to play here, my dad’s coming to watch. I think it’s the first LETAS event he’s come to so that’s exciting.

“It is nice to play at home, but it doesn’t really matter where it is. I will just do my best.”

The Spaniard turned professional in July of 2024 and one month later finished in the top 10 on LETAS at the Get Golfing Women’s Golf Championship earning an exemption into the Rose Ladies Open where she finished in the top 20.

“This season I’ve been steady, I feel I can afford to be a little more aggressive in my strategy so I can have lower rounds and put myself more in position of winning and hitting top five, top 10s.

“Yet I’m happy so far, and my putting is trending in the in the right direction, so that’s exciting and gives me more chances of, you know, making more birdies.”

Escobar Domingo tees it up at 13:25 alongside Switzerland’s Tiffany Arafi and Scotland’s Laura Beveridge.
