Anne-Sterre den Dunnen fired an opening round of 67 to lead on the first day of the Lavaux Ladies Open in Switzerland.
The Dutch amateur, who won the Internazionali d’Italia Femminili U18 in late August, produced a round of five-under-par to be at the summit of the leaderboard.
Three birdies and a bogey in her opening nine holes ensured den Dunnen made the turn in 34, before she added three consecutive birdies on holes 11 through 13 to finish on -5.
“I am very happy with my round today, I had some great approaches and putts that really helped with my score,” said the 17-year-old.
“I almost made a hole-in-one on 17 but it just missed the hole and spun back. I was also very happy with my approach on 4, where I made a birdie, because I think that is a very tough shot.”
It is the first LET Access Series event for den Dunnen and she is enjoying being able to play at Golf de Lavaux.
She added: “The course has a lot of different ways you can play each hole, so you have to be creative really go for each shot 100%.”
Three players are tied for second place one stroke back on four-under-par after Teresa Diez Moliner, Anais Maggetti and Kristyna Napoleaova all shot rounds of 68.
Spain’s Moliner and Czechia’s Napoleaova both carded five birdies and one bogey in their opening rounds, while Swiss golfer Maggetti made six birdies and two bogeys.
Two shots off the lead is a group of eight players including the winner of the 2021 Allerum Open Gabrielle Macdonald.
The Scottish player got off to a tough start making three bogeys in her opening five holes but turned it around with six birdies to be on three-under.
Macdonald, who is third in the Order of Merit, is joined by England’s Katrina Gillum and Gemma Clews, Austria’s Katharina Muehlbauer, Finland’s Emilia Tukiainen and amateurs Elena Colombo, Nastasia Nadaud and Agata Vahalova.
