Davis Ready For Final Day Challenge

                                                                                           Hayley Davis

Hayley Davis heads into the final round of the Turfman Allerum Open, with a one shot lead over Sweden’s Lynn Carlsson. The Englishwoman shot a second day 71, one under par, in tricky, windy conditions at Allerum Golf Club, to sit at seven under par.

“It was good today, not quite as good as yesterday. It was a bit harder out there to be fair because the first 12 holes it was quite windy. One club wind definitely, sometimes a bit more but I still played solid so I’m pleased with the round,” she commented.

Davis will be bidding to become the 9th first time winner on the LET Access Series this year. The 25-year-old from Poole is in her rookie year and has not had that much experience of being at the top of the leaderboard as a professional and plans to stay with the strategy that has served her well over the first two days.

“Just the same thing, stick to my game plan and got to stay playing aggressive out there really because it’s one of those courses that you can go low. So I just want to stick to my game plan and make birdies where I can. Just stay patient out there.”

Carlsson will also be hoping to go one better than her runner-up finish in the 2014 Onsjo Ladies Open, where she lost in a play-off to fellow Swede Lina Boqvist.

The 23-year-old has banked matching 69’s for a six under par total and second position on her own. Tied for third place are Chloe Williams (68) from Wales and Swede Frida Gustafsson-Spang (71) at 5 under.

A further shot back are England’s Lauren Taylor and Rachel Goodall, and Swedes Johanna Gustavsson and Jessica Karlsson, on a total of 140, 4 under.

Moa Folke was the only amateur to make the cut, which fell at +3. Play will commence at 8.00 for the final day.
