The 23-year-old from Kilkeel played in the LETAS Ladies Open in August and missed the cut, but is taking it as a learning experience.
“I’ll be going to Tour School in January so I’m trying to stay competitive over the winter,” said McVeigh.
“It’s very helpful. It’s just a learning experience before you get onto the main tour and you’re playing with pros here. I’ve played in main events as well. Having this experience before you get on to the main tour is brilliant. Hopefully I’ll play full time on the LET next year and find my feet from there.
“LETAS is just a little smaller than the LET and you see some of the same faces. It’s pretty similar and seems well run.”
During her amateur career, McVeigh won the British Strokeplay Championship in 2009 at Royal Aberdeen and last year’s Scottish Strokeplay event.
She will play in the remaining LETAS events this season including the Murcia Ladies Open at La Manga Club in late November, which will help her to prepare for LET Q School taking place at the same venue in Spain.
