CREEKHOUSE LADIES OPEN BECOMES NAMING PARTNER OF NORDIC GOLF TOUR’S ORDER OF MERIT

The three highest ranked players on the Nordic Golf Tour’s Order of Merit will qualify to play in the Creekhouse Ladies Open.

The Creekhouse Ladies Open, a new tournament on the Ladies European Tour (LET), is still scheduled to take place on September 3-6 at Kristianstads GK in Åhus. Now it is agreed that the tournament will become the naming partner of the Nordic Golf Tour’s Order of Merit 2020, where the top three in the Nordic Golf Tour rankings at the week prior to the tournament will get spots in the field.

Talented players get a chance to play against the best in Europe

Pelle Krüger, Managing Director for title sponsor, Creekhouse Management, comments:

“We are of course proud to contribute to this initiative. Being very aware of today’s serious situation all over the world and the challenges and responsibilities that come with it, we still hope that our tournament can take place and be something positive to look forward to. Through the “Road to Creekhouse Ladies Open” three additional talented players will get a chance to play in a tournament of the highest level in Europe in their pursuit to become the best.

“It takes collaboration to help the sport of golf to develop in general and our promising professional golfers to do so in particular, and this is just one example of what you can do by combining forces,” Krüger added.

Increases attractiveness of our tournaments even more

Sofia Pettersson, responsible for the Nordic Golf Tour, commented: “We are very content to have reached an agreement with the Creekhouse Ladies Open. It demonstrates how the developmental path works in professional golf and provides a clear goal for our professional golfers with a chance to compete at the highest European level. We also hope the collaboration can increase the attractiveness of each tournament on the Nordic Golf Tour even more, with even better and larger fields.

“What is happening in the world right now is of course very serious and we are closely following the situation and the advice and direction provided by the various official authorities. At the same time, we, of course, all hope for an improved situation soon so that the Nordic Golf Tour can become something positive for all involved, just like it is meant to be.”
