German amateur Olivia Cowan won the 2015 ASGI Ladies Open at Gams-Werdenberg GC in Switzerland, by three shots on Saturday.
The 19 year-old from Kaiserslautern started the final round in a tie for 2nd place, two shots behind overnight leader, Olafia Kristensdottir from Iceland and then had the best of starts, with birdies on the first two holes to draw level.
Although the young German player admitted to feeling nervous on the back nine, she was always in control, with birdies on the 10th, 13th and par five 18th hole.
Cowan moves in to 2nd place on the LETAS Order of Merit and will play the next LETAS event in Sweden before concentrating on her amateur schedule for the next few months, competing in the British Amateur Championship, the European Team Championships and will be hoping to receive a pick for the Vagliano Trophy.
Kristinsdottir double bogeyed the 14th and 17th to fall out of contention, settling for 5th place on her own with a 5 under par total, 211.
Swiss Amateur Azelia Meichtry (71), Ainil Bakar (71) from Malaysia and Kym Larratt (69) all tied for 2nd place on 6 under par, 210.
The LET Access Series next moves to Sweden for the PGA Halmstad Ladies Open by Haverdal, which takes place at Haverdals Golf Club from the 22 – 24 May.
