The Melbourne Club at Brocket Hall hosts the Rose Ladies Open as the LET Access Series moves onto another event on the 2022 calendar.
A 54-hole stroke play tournament hosted by Justin and Kate Rose will take place in Hertfordshire, England with a total prize fund of €65,000 up for grabs.
Gemma Clews, the highest-ranked British player on the LETAS Order of Merit is looking forward to teeing it up on home soil again as the season is culminating with three events to go.
„It’s so close on the Order of Merit with only three events left so I just need to keep pushing and get a big finish. Playing at home is just giving me more comfort.
“It’s always nice to play at home, I’ve got some family coming, my boyfriend is on the bag again, and the weather looks like it’s going to be okay so I’m very excited for this week.”
The Manchester native, who has eight top 10 finishes on LETAS this year and sits in eighth place on the LETAS Order of Merit also won on the Rose Ladies Series in 2021.
“It is amazing what Justin and Kate have done for women’s golf in the UK. Starting in Covid, carrying it on, and stepping up with their support on the LET Access Series is unbelievable.
“They look after us really well and to have them at the events supporting, being there on the 18th green and cheering us on is so much appreciated.”
Coming off a sixth-place finish at the ASGI Lavaux Ladies Open last week in Switzerland, the 27-year-old is eyeing another good week in England to move up to the top six on the rankings that will secure a full LET card for 2023 at the conclusion of this season.
“I had good memories from last year in Switzerland where I lost in a play-off and I played really solid again all of last week. I’m definitely taking away some good things coming into the Rose Ladies Open.”
The Englishwoman got close to her maiden LETAS victory at the Smorum Ladies Open in Denmark as she finished best professional of the event and took home the winner’s check.
Clews will tee it up in Hertfordshire at 12.57 pm local time alongside two LETAS champions Sara Kouskova from the Czech Republic and amateur Nastasia Nadaud from France.
