Catching up with Charlotte Thompson

Charlotte Thompson earned her card for the Ladies European Tour by gaining a top five position on the LET Access Series in 2017. We catch up with Charlotte with a few quick questions…

What have you been up to this season?

So I started my year in Australia, I was there just under three months and then I’ve played a few LET events and just a couple of LETAS events so far this year

What are you working on in your game at the moment?

A couple of technical things really in my swing just to get it a bit more consistent and keeping everything neat and tidy. I also started to see a putting coach at the end of last year and am working a lot with him and yeah, just getting the technique where it needs to be and playing a lot more this year

What else have you been doing other than golf since the 2017 LET Access Series season?

Mainly just spending time with family and my partner and then just practice at home and seeing friends… the usual stuff that girls do I guess

What tournament were you most excited to go to this year and why?

I would say this one, this Bossey event because I played here last year and I played quite well last year, and it’s a lovely course, beautiful scenery. Such a professional event, so I was looking forward to coming here

What did you learn from last year on the LETAS?

I learnt that every shot matters whether it’s a double or a triple bogey, it matters towards the order of merit, or where you finish in the field. So never give up!

What advice would you give to a new member on LETAS?

Be a learning sponge, be open to learn new things, take on board what everyone says and then you choose which you like or dislike, whether you use it or not

What is your favourite thing about competing on the tour?

It’s so friendly but it’s a competitive tour – everyone wants to win, everybody is here to do well, there are some really good players here.

What are your goals for 2018?

My goals are to keep my card on the Ladies European Tour, if I could win this week on the Access, that would be great but yeah mainly to keep my card and have a steady season ready for next year.
