The LET Access Series moves to Sweden this week for the PGA Halmstad Ladies Open at Haverdal at Haverdals GC in Halmstad, for the fourth event of the season.
The 54-hole stroke play tournament features a strong international field of 126 players from 25 different countries, led by Luna Sobron who currently tops the LETAS Order of Merit. The 21-year-old Spanish amateur is joined by fellow countrywomen, Carolina Gonzalez Garcia, who won the ASGI Ladies Open earlier this month and Maria Parra, currently occupying third place on the LETAS ranking.
There is a large contingent of 57 Swedes in the tournament field, including local favourite Lynn Carlsson who is relishing the opportunity to play close to home.
“It’s awesome for me to be back home playing against some really good players this week. I grew up and played a lot of amateur golf around here so it’s really special. I live in Halmstad now so I know the course which always helps. Haverdal is in great condition and is a great venue for this tournament. I played last year and really enjoyed it and had a top ten. It’s also cool to see so many good players and amateurs from the area as well.”
The PGA Halmstad Ladies Open at Haverdal is the first of six events on the LET Access Series this year, which are part of the Nordea Tour. Four of those events are in Sweden and two, the Drobak Ladies Open and the Ladies Norwegian Open, are in Norway.
