France’s Vanessa Bouvet has returned to the LET Access Series (LETAS) to play in her home event this week, the Terre Blanche Ladies Open.
The French player stormed through two rounds of Lalla Aicha Q School to finish tied 19th to earn LET playing rights for 2025.
The 26-year-old has had a tough start but is excited to reset this week on a familiar course and build back her confidence.
Speaking about her transition to the LET, Bouvet said: “It’s been a bit of a rough start. I’ve found it hard to find confidence in myself lately.
“But my mental coach is really helping, and I’ve been preparing a lot better, practicing better and I’m just really excited to play on my home course and have a reset.”
Bouvet, who turned professional following this year’s Q School, finished in the top 10 at last year’s event.
“I feel most relaxed when I play here. It’s always good vibes.
“I love the course, and I think I have a pretty good chance so I’m excited for the week. Its great playing a course that you know like the back of your hand.
“I just want to keep chasing birdies and hopefully win.”
So far, Bouvet has been struggling with replicating the performance she displayed at Q School but feels like she has now turned a corner.
“Q School gave me a big boost for the season and I was excited and confident to start the season.
“What spooked me out was having conversations with certain people about how important it was to have sponsors or an agency.
“That stressed me out. There was some negative talk about hard it was on the LET.
“So, my focus was elsewhere. When I had a bad hole, it was harder for me to recover because I was so focused on the score and performance.
“It’s hard to get back from that.”
Bouvet is taking all the advantages which come from playing at home this week and is excited to have a crowd watching her.
“My mum is coming to visit. My friends and some of the men’s team here I think may come and support.
“My caddy Alex’s parents are also coming to support. I really love playing with support. I think it makes the environment more comfortable.
“I love having people watching me too. I love playing with an audience.”
Bouvet tees it up at 9:46am alongside Dutch player Zhen Bontan and English amateur Jessica Hall.
