Melodie Bourdy
France’s Melodie Bourdy shot an opening round of three under par 69 at Golf de Fourqueux on Thursday to take a one-stroke lead at the Fourqueux Ladies Open.
Bourdy combined four birdies with one bogey to finish the day a stroke clear of Scotland’s Pamela Feggans on a crisp, sunny and breezy day near Paris.
Denmark’s Mianne Bagger and French duo Caroline Afonso and Cassandra Kirkland ended the day a stroke further back in a share of third position but it was Bourdy who made the most of her opportunities on the opening day.
The 25-year-old from Bourdeaux birdied the par-four 1st hole, picking up her second stroke at the 127 yard par-three 7th after dropping a shot on the 6th, to make the turn in 1 under par.
Bourdy picked up her third birdie at the par-four 10th with her final of the day coming at the 277 yard par-four 15th hole, recording a back nine total of two under par.
Current LETAS and GENERALI Ladies Tour Order of Merit leader, Marion Ricordeau slumped to an opening round of 77, five over par.
Play will commence tomorrow morning at 8.40am, with strong winds forecast for the second round.
