In June, the LET Access Series (LETAS) will return to Germany for the first time in seven years with Golf-Club Bergisch Land set to host the Ladies German challenge powered by VcG.

From June 19-21, the Ladies German Challenge powered by VcG will see 132 players tee it up across 54 holes of golf for a €70,000 prize fund, the second highest purse on Tour this season.

In a format like the successful German Challenge for men at Wittelsbacher Golfclub on the HotelPlanner Tour, Germany’s emerging female golfers will now have the opportunity to compete at professional level against international rivals on home soil.

Golf-Club Bergisch Land, one of the oldest courses in Germany was founded in 1928 among others by Willy Schniewind, who later represented the emerging German golf movement worldwide as President of the Deutscher Golfverband.

The club was ranked among the Top 50 golf courses in Germany by Golf Magazine in 2024 and achieved an impressive 12th place.

Golf-Club Bergisch Land has also enjoyed considerable success from a sporting perspective. Germany’s two most famous golfers, Marcel Siem and Martin Kaymer, both spent a significant part of their amateur careers there.

Speaking about the new event tournament director Christian Schunck, said: “We are proud and delighted that since 2021 we have developed the German Challenge powered by VcG into one of the most significant and popular events on the HotelPlanner Tour—and now we want to follow the same path in women’s golf,”

“With the Ladies German Challenge powered by VcG, we are closing an important gap in the German tournament calendar. At the same time, we are pleased to have gained Golf-Club Bergisch Land as a strong partner in western Germany. This gives golf fans in this golf-enthusiastic region the opportunity once again to experience professional golf live.”

Marco Paeke, Managing Director of the VcG said: “The LET Access Series, as the feeder Tour to the Ladies European Tour, represents the next stage of development on the path to international elite sport—and that is exactly where our commitment comes in.”

“As with the men’s German Challenge, we are also supporting a platform in women’s golf where national talents can compete at a high level with international opposition. This fits seamlessly into our development strategy: we want to make performance visible, enable development, and actively support the next step in players’ careers. The fact that there is now a women’s counterpart to the German Challenge, expanding support for women’s golf in Germany, makes us very happy.”

Corina Gothe and Niklas Gothe, from Golf-Club Bergisch Land said: “The Golf-Club Bergisch Land will soon celebrate its 100th anniversary and has supported the development of golf in Germany since its earliest days—especially through its strong commitment to elite sport, which has shaped the careers of numerous top professional athletes.”

“This year, we are following the progress of our women’s team in the German Golf League with enthusiasm. When asked whether we would be interested in hosting a major professional sporting event, we could only answer with an enthusiastic yes. We are delighted by the task of setting a strong statement for women’s sport in German golf with the Ladies German Challenge powered by VcG.”

The Ladies German Challenge powered by VcG also plans to support young talent even before the first tournament tee shot.

In addition to the traditional ProAm tournament on June 17, a special “Girls ProAm” for girls will be held one day before the event on June 18. Admission for spectators is free on all days.

The LET Access Series (LETAS) is the official development tour of the Ladies European Tour and represents a key step on the path to international elite golf.

It offers aspiring players the opportunity to gain tournament experience under professional conditions, earn world ranking points, and qualify for the Ladies European Tour through a season-long ranking.

In 2026, the Tour calendar includes 19 tournaments in 13 countries between April and November. Most recently, German rising star Helen Briem made history on LETAS in 2024 by securing a remarkable hat-trick of titles to earn LET status.

Last December, one year later Briem secured her LPGA card proving that LETAS is the place where dreams begin.
