There is a special trophy for the Association Suisse de Golf Ladies Open being played at Golfclub Gams-Werdenberg this week.
The trophy comprises a piece of quartz, or silicon oxide crystal, from the nearby Swiss mountains, which is estimated to be between 12 and 20 million years old. There is also a smaller version for the leading amateur. Organiser Guido Mätzler wanted the players to keep something from Switzerland.
The first, second and third place finishers will also receive a bag, handmade from Swiss army blankets in a local village and embroidered with the Swiss cross.
