The second tournament on the 2013 LET Access Series will be played from 5-7 April this week when the Dinard Ladies Open gets under way at Dinard Golf in Saint-Briac-sur-mer, north western France.
Fans of women’s golf will be able to watch the skills and talents of 117 golfers from 22 different countries, including several of the best players from the home nation.
Among them will be Marion Ricordeau, who in 2012 lost a play-off against Carly Booth at Dinard, before the Scot went on to claim two further wins on the LET, where she finished the year ranked 5th on the ISPS Handa Order of Merit.
Fellow Frenchwomen Caroline Afonso and Julie Maisongrosse, both winners on the Access Series, in 2012 and 2011 respectively, will tee off in Dinard. This will also be an opportunity to watch new professional Perrine Delancour, who left the greens on the Symetra Tour in the USA (the feeder tour to the LPGA) to play in Dinard, in the hope of progressing onto the Ladies European Tour.
At the end of the season, the top five players on the 2013 Order of Merit will qualify for the 2014 LET season while the top 15 will qualify for the final stage of Lalla Aicha Tour School.
LET rookies Mallory Fraiche of the USA and Camilla Lennarth of Sweden are amongst the international players competing. Fraiche led after the first round of the recent Terre Blanche Ladies Open on the Access Series and tied for 12th place at last week’s Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco on the LET. Mireia Prat of Spain who played in Morocco will also compete after tying for third place two weeks ago in Terre Blanche.
There are five former LETAS winners in the field of entries: Marjet Van Der Graaff, Anastasia Kostina, Antonella Cvitan, Anna Rossi and Christine Wolf.
The young French amateurs to watch include Elise Genoux and Ariane Provot, ranked 43rd and 46th respectively on the GENERALI Ladies Tour 2012. Spanish amateur Patricia Sanz Barrio, who finished second at Terre Blanche, will return to the Access Series after finishing tied for 22nd at the Lalla Meryem Cup last week, having qualified through the Access Series.
This is the fourth edition of the Dinard Ladies Open at Dinard, a British style golf course founded in 1887 and designed by the Scottish architect Tom Dunn. The course is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, full of biodiversity. It is maintained in keeping with the local surroundings in protected by measures compatible with the game of golf.
