Six Tied For Lead At Road To La Largue Final

                                                                                          Katerina Vlasinova

The opening round of the season ending event, the Road to La Largue Final, produced a tight leaderboard with six players tied at the top. This week’s event will decide the top 5 players who will progress onto the Ladies European Tour next year and also fifteen players will earn a spot at the final stage of the LET’s Tour School.

Conditions were difficult for today’s round with swirling winds and intermittent showers. The La Largue course is a great test and proved itself with the leaders all recording a round of 71, one under par.

Katerina Vlasinova from the Czech Republic teed off at 9.00, and claimed the clubhouse lead, with nines of 33 and 38 for her one under par total. Chloe Williams of Wales, Finn Niina Liias, France’s Marie Fourquier, Clara Pietri of Switzerland and South Korea’s Eun Jung Li, all joined Vlasinova to lead the way heading into round two.

Order of Merit leader Hayley Davis sits in a group of four players tied in 8th place at +1. The 26-year-old has an unassailable lead at the top of the rankings but will want to finish the season strongly. Sweden’s Annelie Sjoholm, who needs a good finish this week to maintain her 7th position in the rankings, and a chance of gaining her LET card, slumped to a 10 over 82, and will have some hard work ahead of her to climb up the leaderboard over the next two days.

The second round gets underway at 9.00 on Saturday morning.
