Johanna Gustavsson
Sweden’s Johanna Gustavsson enters this week’s Ribeira Sacra Patrimonio de la Humanidad International Ladies Open as the defending champion at the Augas Santas Balneario & Golf Resort in Spain.
Gustavsson is looking forward to the challenge on the intricate Augas Santas course in Panton. The 26-year-old from Orebro has had a solid start to her year on the LET Access Series, with a best finish of tied 11th at the Terre Blanche Ladies Open.
One of her strongest challengers will be last year’s LET rookie, Julia Engstrom. The 18-year-old from Bjarred is a two-time winner on the LET Access Series, claiming the 2018 Viaplay Ladies Finnish Open and the season-ending Santander Golf Tour LETAS El Saler.
Another player who could also be in the chase are Spain’s Laura Gomez Ruiz, who claimed her first LETAS win at the Montauban Ladies Open last month and followed up with another strong finish, a tie for 2nd, at the Belfius Ladies Open two weeks ago.
Players from 18 different countries will compete this week, with a strong contingent of Spanish competitors in the field, including Carmen Alonso, Elia Folch, Natalia Escuriola and Noemi Jimenez, all past winners on the LET Access Series.
Play gets underway on Thursday morning at 9.41 from both the 1st and 10th tees.
