The Neuchâtel Ladies Championship, the first of seven new events on the LET Access Series schedule this year, begins on Wednesday at Neuchâtel Golf & Country Club in Saint Blease, Switzerland.
Seventy-nine players from 22 different countries will tee it up on the challenging, undulating course set on the banks of the impressive Lake Neuchâtel.
The VP Bank Ladies Open champion, 17-year-old amateur Elena Moosmann, will be one of the favourites heading into the third event of the season. Moosmann, who plays off a handicap of +5, was victorious at Gams-Werdenberg Golf Club, just two weeks ago. The Swiss player is currently ranked 78th in the world amateur golf rankings and finished 19th at the Youth Olympics. She has made a great start to her amateur season finishing 3rd at the Italian Amateur Championship and runner-up at the European Nations Cup.
Other players to watch will be France’s Anais Meyssonnier and Chloe Williams of Wales, who are currently lying in 6th and 7th place on the LETAS Order of Merit. Meyssonnier recorded a tied 7th placing at the VP Bank Ladies Open, her best finish since joining the tour in 2015. Williams has also started the season strongly, with a tie for 11th at the season-opening Terre Blanche Ladies Open followed by a tied 14th position in Gams.
There are 10 Swiss amateurs in the field, lead by Moosmann, and seven professionals with Anais Maggetti the highest placed at 27th on the LETAS ranking.
Play will start tomorrow at 8.00, with the strong winds experienced over the last two days forecast to subside during the morning.
