With the addition of events to the year’s calendar, the LETAS heads to Bossey, France for the first playing of the Bossey Ladies Championship by Pitch and Play.
The €45,000 event is the second richest purse on tour this year right behind the Jabra Ladies Open. The 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Jr layout located at the foot of the Haute-Savoie mountain, will play as a par-71 for the week as the leading players look to put the finishing touches on a highly successful 2017 season.
England’s Meghan Maclaren is a part of the Pitch and Play team, alongside two-time major winner John Daly, European Tour stalwart Barry Lane, fellow Ladies European Tour professionals Sophie Powell and Kelsey MacDonald among others.

The Englishwoman has enjoyed a stellar season with a dominating lead in the Order of Merit to go with five finishes in the top-ten including a win and a playoff loss. Maclaren won early in the season at the Azores Ladies Open in Portugal and never looked back in a year which also saw the former Florida State University graduate qualify for the US Women’s Open.
“Being on top of the Order of Merit is great, because for me it was my goal at the beginning of the year, but to me being consistent is as important, and I’m happy that I’ve been in contention a few times.”
Not too far behind is Charlotte Thompson, also from England. Thompson is currently third on the LETAS ranking and in her third full season on the LETAS heading into next week’s tournament.
“I am happy with this position. There were a few blips in recent tournaments, but third place is good and I hope to keep this moving forward after the Bossey event.”
Like her counterpart, Charlotte too had a goal charted out at the beginning of the season – to finish in the top-five and earn her Ladies European Tour card. While that looks probable, what’s next? “I would love to get my first professional win under my belt,” said the twenty-four-year-old whose best on tour is a pair of runner-up finishes.
The tournament will be played between August 15 – 17. A total of 90 players including seven amateurs representing 19 different countries are in the field. After day two, the top 45 professionals and ties will qualify for the final round. Thirteen of the professionals in the field are winners on the LET Access Series.
The event is supported by the French Golf Federation, the Swiss Golf Association and Swiss Independent Golfers Association.
Pitch and Play was founded by Alexis Sikorsky, an avid golfer whose love for the game got him involved. The company organizes many tournaments across the world, including the Paris Legend Championship on the European Senior Tour, which they sponsor.
