Nina Pegova of Russia finished 26th on the 2016 LETAS Order of Merit. One of Nina’s goals this year is to make her way up the Rolex Women’s World Rankings. We get to know Nina with a few quick questions…

Who is your favourite golfer?

What’s your favourite club in your bag?

My hybrid

What’s been your biggest golfing achievement of your career?

Winning the Russian Open Professional Championship and when I was an amateur the 2nd place in the Finnish Amateur, Hungarian Amateur Championships and winning the Russian Open Amateur Championship three times.

Which is your favourite golf course?

Agalarov Golf and Country Club in the Moscow region. This course is a real challenge every time I come to play it, it is different depending on the weather.

What is the one thing you could not live without?

Interesting books.

Who do you most look up to?

My parents.

What is your favourite food?

Cheese.

How would you spend your perfect day?

Participating in a major and making birdies.

Your favourite city?

London.

Describe yourself in one word?

Intelligent. When I was in school we had a tradition to characterize other students in three words. This is the opinion of students from my class: clever, brave and kind.

What do you like doing except playing golf?

Reading books, travelling, enjoying delicious food and swimming.

If you could travel anywhere where would you go?

Iceland – as I have heard that it is beautiful and has unusual nature.

What’s your best golfing tip for a beginner?

To have lessons with a good coach starting from the very first day.

Do you have any superstitions before a round?

If I lose something of my belongings at the golf club, this is a good sign it means I will do well.

What is your most memorable sporting moment?

Getting an eagle from 60 meters to the pin in a match play round just after my opponent made eagle from 65 meters to the pin.

Do you listen to music before your round?

Only when travelling to the golf club.

What’s in your golf bag besides golf balls and clubs?

An acorn.

What are your goals for 2017?

To go up in world rankings as much as I can.
