Getting to Know Fanny Cnops

Belgium’s Fanny Cnops is looking to gain back her confidence on the golf course this year after an injury set back last year. We get to know Fanny with a few quick questions…

Who is your favourite golfer?

Tiger Woods as he has done so much for the game.

What’s your favourite club in your bag?

56 degrees.

What’s been your biggest golfing achievement of your career?

Winning the German Ladies Amateur Open.

What’s your favourite golf course?

Kiawah, South Carolina.

What is the one thing you could not live without?

My family.

Who do you most look up to?

My parents.

What is your favourite food?

Chocolate, hands down!

How would you spend your perfect day?

With people that I love, maybe go hiking and then ending at the beach with a good sunset.

Your favourite city?

San Francisco.

Describe yourself in one word?

Goofy.

What do you like doing except playing golf?

Any other sports – field hockey, tennis and dance.

If you could travel anywhere where would you go?

New Zealand.

What’s your best golfing tip for a beginner?

Stay patient.

Do you have any superstitions before a round?

Not at all.

What is your most memorable sporting moment?

A professional tennis match between two players a Belgium woman and an American when I was 12 years old. The Belgium player was Kim Clijstbrs only 18 at the time and won – she really inspired me how she played the game.

Do you listen to music before your round?

Not specifically.

What’s in your golf bag besides golf balls and clubs?

I carry tape for my hand.

What are your goals for 2017?

I want to get back a good level of confidence with my game and hold myself how I did before I got injured and of course to win on the LETAS.
